Our Origin Story
The Hotline for Israel/Palestine was founded on October 17th, 2023, in response to an urgent need for nuanced engagement with the region in the face of imminent war.
Today, over 20 volunteers from different political, religious, and national backgrounds have already answered over 300 questions. Each volunteer is trained in dialogue skills, as well as in how to provide a range of resources from multiple perspectives, to help people come to their own conclusions. You can read more about our methodology on our home page. We also occasionally produce write-ups on the Resources page, in which we dive deeply into one topic, and share perspectives from many sides.
The Hotline is a project of the Institute for Multipartisan Education. IME is a resource hub dedicated to supporting educational institutions in fostering curious and constructive disagreements in and out of the classroom. We offer partnerships and custom resource design, and develop a curriculum based on our principles but tailored to the needs of the specific institution. IME is not focused on Israel/Palestine specifically, but we can address the issue if requested. To learn more, email info@multipartisaned.org.
We are always looking for more volunteers who can respond to questions, and/or work on strategic planning, funding, or other leadership initiatives. Please email info@hotlineforip.com with any thoughts or questions, and share this initiative with your network. We need you to help us promote education and dialogue for peace.
